Non-Discrimination Policy
United Way of the Lakelands is committed to serving all individuals across Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick, and Saluda counties in an inclusive environment free from discrimination.
United Way of the Lakelands does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, language, ancestry, religion, sex, age, familial status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, disability (physical, mental, or sensory), domestic or sexual violence victim status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
This policy applies to all aspects of organizational operations, including employment, volunteer engagement, funding decisions, and the delivery of programs and services.
Furthermore, United Way of the Lakelands requires that all funded partner agencies demonstrate a commitment to non-discrimination in their programs and service delivery. Funding will not be awarded to organizations that discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic. This requirement does not preclude agencies from offering programs that are designed to meet the specific needs of defined populations (e.g., age-specific, gender-specific, or disability-focused services).
